There are two ways to win a game of Minefield, and both involve building and playing a deck full of cards with effects; killing and milling. The first way win is by killing - or finding a way to reduce your opponents' health to zero. For this strategy, you'd most likely want to fill your deck with Deal effect cards, so that you can hit their Health Bar directly. The second way to snag a victory is by playing your own deck in a slow and evasive way that causes them to run out of cards first, as a player loses the game instantly when their deck has no cards left in it. For this plan of defense, you'd probably add more Armor and Healing effect cards to help you survive the whole round! Setup:

  1. Drafting Phase: Hover over one of the eight colored kits at the bottom of the screen with your mouse to show what items are inside. Click a kit to select it, and click it again to confirm your selection and pass the draft to your opponent. If you change your mind, you can right click to clear your selection.
  2. Starting The Game: When the game starts, you will be dealt 7 cards from the deck you built. The Ice player drafts and plays first, while the Fire player gets to draw an additional card on their first turn.
  3. Taking Your Turn: Left click on a card in hand during your turn to select it. Click the same card again to play it. Click on a different card to swap it. Right clicking clears the selection. Both player will need to play cards with the Mine effect in order to get Resources before they can afford to pay for cards that need to be crafted. If the card has a Craft cost attached to it, and the player does not have enough Resources to pay for it, the player will "Fumble" their turn. When a player Fumbles a card, none of the positive effects (Mine, Shield, Heal, Deal) will be activated, and their Resources will be drained to zero.
  4. Special Abilities: Before playing a card, you may first choose to play any number of Special Abilities on your turn. There are 3 Special Abilities and they each cost a Craft fee of (3) to activate:
Block - Negates all of the damage from the next hit you take.
Cleave - Sets the enemy player's Shield to zero.
Combo - Take another turn after you play your next card.
  5. Winning The Game: You win and become an Archmage by reducing your opponent's health bar to zero or surviving long enough for them to run out of cards!
